3 Ingredient Butterfinger Eggs
Imagine having the most delicious Butterfinger bar any time and any size you want. With this copycat, 3-ingredient recipe, you can do just that. In fact, this recipe is so scrumptious, I think it might just be better than the real thing.
You’ll need these 3 items from your pantry:
#1 Peanut Butter (I used creamy, although chunky could work too)
#2 Candy Corns (sold all year online or stock up after Halloween)
#3 Chocolate (of course!)
Don’t start nibbling on those candy corns because its pretty hard to stop.
This recipe is quick and easy so let’s get started. Of course, the real Butterfinger can be purchased at the store but this is different, this is made with your love, your ingredients and as much chocolate as you want. Keep reading to find out about the unlimited chocolate bath.
First, melt the candy corns, either in your microwave or stove. You may want to take it off the heat to give them a bit of a chop and a mash. You know what I mean, urge em along a bit.
Now add an equal amount of peanut butter. I used 1/2 cup of candy corn and then add a 1/2 cup of peanut butter and continued to give it a little heat.
Once you feel its starting to gel together, take it off of the heat and mix away.
Form into “egg” shapes like many of the candy bar makers do for Easter but if you want to go bigger, do any size and amount you want.
Pop them into your freezer just like this for about 15 minutes. This allows them to cool off and become a unified front against the chocolate.
I placed 1/2 cup of chocolate disks in a bowl and slowly melted them while stirring. If in a microwave, heat for about 15 seconds, then stir for about 15 seconds until its just right. I used the Dove Chocolate disks that have a touch of sea salt. Perfect choice for this recipe.
I used a fork to help let my eggs take a nice bath in the chocolate. Once it was coated to my satisfaction, I let it take a double dip. Extra chocolate!
That’s pretty much it.
Place your eggs on a dish and place in the fridge or freezer for about 10 minutes to let the chocolate harden.
So you think you are a Chocolatier now? You kind of are!! There are 2 requirement for becoming one:
#1 An undying love for all things chocolate
#2 A love of creating these chocolates in all forms
Its actually a real thing so go here
These were amazing. Like AMAZING. And I’m not even a Butterfinger fan. I am a huge fan of these homemade eggs and plan on bringing these everywhere I go.
I could stare at these all day but they won’t be around forever.
