Let’s talk Summertime!

Memorial Day, Father’s Day, 4th of July, the August birthday month (seems like everyone has a birthday in August) and then cap it off with the Labor Day weekend.  The summer calls for lots of pool time, picnics and BBQs which made me love the idea of these bite sized treats that your guests will get a kick out of.

This is made up of chocolate cupcakes, thick melted Blommer’s chocolate, black decorative icing, sprinkles and hot tamales. It’s really very easy to do once you’ve made the cupcakes.

For the hotdogs, I grabbed a box of Hot Tamales from the Dollar Store.  Seriously, it will save you half by grabbing some of your candies at that store or a similar one.

I hope this recipe would make it to one of your parties.

I added a teaspoon of red food coloring to the yellow sprinkles to create a fire color.

After you have sprinkled on the sugar, pipe on your black decorative icing.

Next, add 3 hot tamales.

Finally, add 3 grill marks to your hot tamales with the icing.

Now serve to smiling guests =)
