Despicable Me Minion Bowl
These Minion Bowls are fun, festive and easy to make!
If you’ve got a Despicable Me fan in your life, try this easy recipe that celebrates the rambunctious homunculi. This spot-on recreation of one of Gru’s tiny henchmen will be the hit of any party.
You’ll need a few things to make these Minion bowls.
You can either stop at Michaels/Hobby Lobby or whatever your local crafts store might be.
You’ll need at least one latex balloon. When I first started making these edible bowls, I would spray the balloon with Pam. I learned pretty quickly that the balloons don’t need anything on them at all.
Melt the Candy Melts for about 60 seconds, then give a stir, then maybe pop back into the microwave for another 15 seconds.
Make sure that before you dip the balloon in the candy melts that its cooled off.
Once I dipped my balloon in hot melts and the balloon burst splattering green candy melts everywhere.
I used a small glass to rest the balloon in and then let it sit in the fridge for 10 minutes.
Then I poured myself a glass of wine while I waited for it to set. (this is an optional step)
Do the same for the Blue Melts.
Then let it set in the fridge for about 10 minutes.
Cut off the tip, I placed some scotch tape around the tie just in case.
It will then begin to roll off the candy melts. For the remainder, gently pull until it all comes off.
To get a finer point, you’ll want to use the Wilton decorative tips that you can find here
Start to finish, this bowl takes about 20 minutes.
The last thing that you have to decide is what to put inside the bowl. =)
P.S. Here is another adorable Minion but this one has ZERO calories
